Job Summary

The Quality Engineer 2 will have the primary responsibility of conducting investigations and analysis that contribute to the development and implementation of methods, procedures, and equipment to ensure quality standards for parts and products. The Quality Engineer will provide technical support by leading quality development, certification of processes, cost reductions, resolving production quality problems, and warranty reduction.

What You Will Do:

Work with employees from multiple departments to improve quality practices in their processes using daily coaching, tracking CQI projects, and Scorecard.

Implement the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive Action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons, performing spot checks, explaining validation reasons, and encouraging contributions to achieve zero defects in operations.

Coordinate with engineering personnel regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development, New Product Introduction, design-to-production, engineering changes, deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, and cost reduction goals.

Proactively develop quality-related control methodologies and systems.

Support 5S/Lean Manufacturing and ongoing support to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing practices with internal quality certification systems through standardization and documentation.

Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques with the ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Extensive Experience

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and implement changes to prevent recurrences.

Collaborating: Working Knowledge

Knowledge of collaborative techniques with the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups constructively.

Problem Solving: Working Knowledge

Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operational or process problems; ability to apply problem-solving knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
