Piping Designer

Location: Camden, NJ (Onsite)

Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join their team onsite in Camden, NJ. This role will focus on 3D piping design using S3D (formerly SmartPlant 3D) to support plant layout and process system development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate 3D piping design models using S3D (SmartPlant 3D)

Create detailed piping layouts that incorporate equipment, routing, pipe supports, and maintenance/access volumes

Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design integrity and project requirements

Review and interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and engineering drawings

Identify and resolve design conflicts in the 3D model

Support project deliverables including isometrics, BOMs, and general arrangement drawings

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a 3D Piping Designer in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Proficient in S3D / SmartPlant 3D software for piping design

Strong understanding of piping systems, layouts, and industry standards

Ability to read and interpret technical documents including P&IDs and mechanical drawings

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of Intergraph/Hexagon certified training courses

Professional certification in piping design (e.g., SPED, ASME)

Familiarity with other 3D modeling tools and design standards
