Rightech is working with a national security integrator who is need of Security Technicians to join their team in Phoenix, AZ. This role is contract to hire.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Security Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various security systems, with a primary focus on camera systems, access control, magnetic locks (mag locks), and electric door strikes. This role requires a strong understanding of security technologies, excellent technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP and analog camera systems (CCTV, NVR, DVR).
Install and program access control systems, including readers, controllers, and associated software.
Install and wire electromagnetic locks (mag locks) and electric door strikes on various door types.
Perform conduit bending and installation as needed for cabling.
Run, terminate, and test various types of low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, multi-conductor).
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and system design.
Integrate security systems with other building management systems (Client) where applicable.
Provide training and support to end-users on newly installed systems.
Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks on installed security equipment.
Diagnose and repair system malfunctions and service calls efficiently.
Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices.
Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and inventory.
Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or associate's degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
Minimum of [3] years of experience installing and servicing security systems, specifically cameras, access control, mag locks, and door strikes.
Proven experience with low-voltage wiring and cabling.
Familiarity with various manufacturers and models of security equipment (e.g., Hikvision, Axis, Genetec, LenelS2, Bosch, HID, etc.).
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) as they relate to IP camera systems and access control.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts) and in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and crawl for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to work with small components and tools.
