Signed by Stephen King on the half-title page and inscribed to the recipient with date 6/28/93. 512 pp. Bound in publisher's black spine cloth over black paper-covered boards, stamped in gilt on spine and front board, brown endpapers. Near Fine with very light wear and fading to extremities, tiny inkstain to upper edge of textblock. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light rubbing and toning, faint scattered stains to spine panel. Ephemera relating to provenance laid in. A handsome copy of King's short story collection, signed by the author to Louise M. Steele. A typed postcard to Steele from King's longtime assistant Juliann Eugley indicates that Louise mailed her book from Oregon to Maine to be signed. A photocopy of her letter to King is laid in. "I picked Skeleton Crew due to The Mist," she writes. "It was so real I could picture the claws coming out of the fog, (I also wouldn't put anything past our government)."
