DESCRIPTION

Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Bridgewater Packaging Facility where you'll oversee manufacturing operations with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you'll guide and develop a team of 10-20 operators while supporting operational excellence in a GMP-regulated environment. You'll promote a culture of continuous improvement using Lean/PPI methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role provides the opportunity to create meaningful impact by producing life-changing products while developing leadership skills at a global industry leader.

Pre-production Activities and Responsibilities:

Read, review, and understand the Job Cards, SOPs, WI, and shop floor packets before starting the job

Assign associates/personnel to the production lines/stations

Check and verify all components against the Job Card are accurate per production lines/stations

Demonstrate leadership skills and be a motivator of people

Be dependable and show initiative to improve the overall production process and/or output

Be responsible for day-to-day operations on the production floor and provide production status updates to the production supervisor regularly throughout the shift

Create and maintain a clean, safe working environment for all employees

Be detail and quality-oriented and demonstrate knowledge and experience in cGMPs

Create releases of PRs for NDC, SMV, AFFY, and Export. Verify all coded information (Product Description, Lot Numbers, Exp Date, Product Number) on the Job Card, product, and Product label are correct

Ensure all product and packaging conforms to Job Card and Thermo Fisher specifications

Review and close work orders, issue components, and last of bulk in PRMS

Fix discrepancies with Finance weekly or as needed

Ensure the manufacturing/Packaging area remains clean throughout the production run

Supervise waste and materials quantities and communicate to the supervisor if additional materials are needed

Report all paperwork issues discrepancies and material delays to the Production Supervisors for resolution

Take a proactive approach to analyzing deficiencies and developing plans to correct them. Review existing processes, procedures such as SOPs and WIs, and metrics to identify improvement opportunities and efficiency gains regularly

Support and participate in the company's efforts in Practical Process Improvement, LEAN, standard work, and the 5S program

Serve as primary backup when the supervisor and/or manager are not present

Enforce rules and regulations of the company and department

Ensure both consistency of and compliance with company and departmental policies/procedures and performance standards such as CBA; ensure daily compliance with the departmental and quality standards

Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS

Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including 2+ years in leadership role

Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Science, Business or related field

Certifications in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies preferred

Experience in GMP, ISO or regulated manufacturing environment required

Experience leading and developing effective teams

Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

Expertise in production planning, scheduling and workflow optimization

Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements

Experience with quality systems, SOPs, and regulatory compliance

Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset

Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules as needed

Physical ability to perform manufacturing floor activities and cleanroom operations

Experience leading investigations, CAPAs and change controls

Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build consensus

Experience implementing standard work and 5S practices

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $75,000.00–$95,000.00.
