General Description:
Develop INTRINSIC SAFETY and non-I.S. enclosures using plastic or stainless steel.
Work with Application and/or Development Engineers to design, engineer, and document mechanical and packaging aspects of projects, including structure, assembly, and other required design elements.
Collaborate with graphic designers to create product logos and labels, including the specification of product colors in RGB, CMYK, and Pantone scales.
Coordinate with product suppliers and packaging/enclosure assemblers to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Design and select human-machine interface (HMI) components—such as membranes, handles, harnesses, boots, etc.—used in wireless industrial electronic devices.
Analyze, select, and/or design support structures for printed circuit boards (PCBs) housed in plastic or stainless steel enclosures.
Assist in resolving manufacturing or installation-related issues for developed products.
Perform other related work as assigned by the Manager.
Minimal Experience Requirements:
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Pro-E.
Experience designing enclosures for radio controls (both handheld remotes and base units). Materials to include sheet metal and plastic.
Experience in mold tool construction and injection molding.
Minimal Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong writing skills.
Effective problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desire for continued education.
Minimal Education Requirements:
BSME
During or Upon Completion of Initial Training:
Demonstrate ability to work with technicians, application engineers, and design engineers to document new and ongoing projects.
