About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Research Computing and Data to lead the establishment of a cutting-edge research computing ecosystem.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing a university-wide vision that aligns with the institution's mission and strategic goals.
This role involves spearheading the creation and long-term advancement of a leadership-class research computing and data organization, with a focus on supporting high-impact, interdisciplinary collaborations in fields such as AI, ML, quantum, and robotics.
The AVP will also be tasked with expanding the university's research computing capabilities, including advanced cloud integration and specialized hardware utilization, and ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of the infrastructure.
Applicants for the AVP RCD position at the company should have a master's degree (PhD preferred) and at least 10 years of experience in research computing, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
The role requires a strategic leader with exemplary communication skills, the ability to foster collaboration across various domains, and a strong background in data governance and management.
The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial domain expert, capable of building and leading a team of research computing professionals, and will be expected to represent the university in national and international research computing communities.
Responsibilities also include acting as a primary liaison for research computing across the university's colleges, participating in the development of competitive research proposals, and ensuring that the institution remains at the forefront of technological advancements in research computing and data.
