divh2Lifeguard Position/h2pThe Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring our bodies of water, keeping vigilant watch of swimmers and responding swiftly to any emergencies that may arise.
This includes speaking with swimmers to enforce swimming/pool rules, keeping track of each swimmer in the water and administering first aid as needed.
The Lifeguard role is essential in ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience.
/ppDuties and Responsibilities What You Will Do:/pulliSupervise swimming activities, as outlined by the Childrens Activity Director/liliProvide exceptional customer service to our members and their children/liliAbility to perform proper rescues and provide proper standard of care as outlined in lifeguard training course/liliMaintain safe and clean facilities for our swimmers by inspecting the pool area and locker rooms before and after shift for trash, maintenance issues, cleaning issues, etc. and taking care of the situation IMMEDIATELY/liliMaintain the longevity of our safety equipment by ensuring that the equipment is used, maintained and stored properly/liliStaying alert/aware and ALWAYS keeping our swimmers safe while in our care by enforcing pool rules, ensuring that swimmers are not endangering themselves with carelessness and horseplay, etc.
/liliAssist in promoting various programs (esp. kids programming) to parents/liliWork special events and parties for our members and guests, as needed, which may also include facilitating some pool games/activities/liliAttend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed/li/ulpRequirements and Qualifications Who You Are:/pulliMinimum age requirement of 16 years old/liliCurrent certification in Lifeguard Training AND CPR-Professional Rescuer/liliPrior lifeguard experience preferred/liliPrior experience with children, preferably as a leader/teacher in a setting involving programs, activities, etc/liliEnough mobility to move about during shift to rescue swimmers when and if necessary, keeping the environment safe and clean, and tend to the overall needs of the busy environment of the program and/or facility rental/liliAbility to multi-task/liliPeople- (and child-) friendly/liliNo prior criminal convictions/liliPassion for fitness/health/wellness industry/li/ulpTeam Perks:/pulliFree health club membership/liliCasual work environment/liliDiscount on in club retail items and any current vendor partner offerings (NASM, etc.)/liliOpportunity for growth; professional development/lili401(K) savings plan/li/ulpWork Environment/Physical Demands:/ppWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for an extended period of time.
Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed.
Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements.
The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move ***** pounds.
