Online Student Success Advisor, Mount Olive

The University of Mount Olive is seeking a motivated and student-focused individual to serve as an Online Student Success Advisor within UMO Online.
This on-campus, full-time position provides academic advising and student success support for the university's online student population, assisting students with academic planning, registration, and navigating university processes to promote persistence, retention, and timely degree completion.
The standard work schedule is 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
Responsibilities include: • Providing comprehensive academic advising for the university's online student population • Counseling students on registration, degree planning, academic policies, and institutional procedures • Assisting students in reviewing degree plans and identifying appropriate coursework to support timely progression toward degree completion • Conducting tentative curriculum evaluations for prospective online students in collaboration with the Admissions team, reviewing transfer coursework and program requirements to provide preliminary degree pathway guidance • Conducting proactive outreach to students regarding registration, academic standing, and progress toward degree completion • Monitoring student academic progress and identifying students who may benefit from additional academic or institutional support • Providing structured support and guidance for students experiencing academic sanctions • Supporting institutional initiatives related to student persistence, registration, and retention • Maintaining accurate advising documentation and student records within institutional systems • Utilizing the university's ERP system to support advising documentation, registration processes, and student record management • Communicating relevant student information with appropriate institutional stakeholders to support student success initiatives • Collaborating with external partners supporting online programs to assist with coordinated student outreach and communication • Participating in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and university events • Performing other duties as assigned to support the mission and growth of UMO Online Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Preferred qualifications include experience in academic advising, student services, higher education, or a related field.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, technological, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in student records and advising documentation.
