Staff Accountant Position Summary The Staff Accountant will support the Finance team with day‑to‑day accounting operations, month‑end close activities, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

Support

month‑end and year‑end close , including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Perform

bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations , investigating and resolving discrepancies

Assist with

accounts payable and accounts receivable , including invoice review, coding, and payment processing

Prepare financial schedules and documentation to support

annual audits and internal reviews

Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with

GAAP and internal controls

Assist with

budget tracking, allocations, and variance analysis

Collaborate with program and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

Support ad‑hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2+ years of accounting experience

Strong understanding of

general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries

Proficiency in

Excel and Microsoft Office

Experience working with accounting systems/ERPs

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time‑management skills

Preferred Experience

Experience in a

nonprofit, government‑funded, or social services organization

Exposure to audits, grants, or program/fund accounting

CPA or CPA‑track a plus
