Salary: 100-150K, depending on experience
The Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting operations and financial reporting. This position will develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure complete and accurate financial statements on a timely basis.
RESPONSABILITIES:
Maintain an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of internal controls, and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results
Assure the selection, review, and development of accounting personnel consistent with Company values
Oversee and manage the responsibilities of direct reports
Perform period-end close including percentage of completion adjustments on monthly basis
Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Ensure reported results comply with GAAP
Determine unit cost data to help control expenditures
Monitor, analyze, and report equipment-related expenses to identify trends that impact profitability
Communicate routinely with all levels of management to collaborate on a variety of job-related topics, including costs incurred to date, estimated costs to complete, insurance, and contract agreements
Monitor and accurately report project profitability; variance analysis of actual versus estimated costs; unapplied contract-related costs; general and administrative expenses; financing-related expenses; and investment income
Manage all banking and analyze liquidity, identifying future cash needs and planning to meet those needs, forecasting the Company's financial condition and financing requirements, and providing periodic comparisons of such forecasts to actual conditions
Participate in financial planning for the Company
Ensure customer billing is accurate and processed in a timely manner
Manage accounts receivable collections to ensure payment within terms
Oversee all accounts payable invoice processing and payment, ensuring compliance with all policies and controls
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll, remittance of payroll taxes, and completion and filing of payroll tax reporting
Manage all external audits, including general liability, workers' compensation, sales and use tax, and other on-demand external audits
Manage services of outside CPA firm for the preparation of reviewed financial statements and company tax returns
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP)
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial/accounting principles, practices, and standards as applied to the government contracting environment Advanced computer proficiency, especially in MS Office, accounting information systems, and database applications
Ability to meet deadlines and remain positive under a demanding workload
Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and exceptional analytical skills
Maintain absolute confidentiality in all business matters
Proficiency in Foundation Software is preferred
Prior supervisory experience preferred
