Psychologist Senior (NS)
This is a part time Psychologist Senior position located in the Psychology Services Department. The department operates from a strong theoretical base in Applied Behavior Analysis. Responsibilities include completing basic and specialized diagnostic assessments of cognitive and adaptive skills. Functional assessments of severe behavior disorders. Developing comprehensive training and treatment programs providing staff training. Providing supervision of behavior specialists and masters level psychologists. Assisting and consulting with other staff in conducting systematic analyses of intervention efforts, and participating in interdisciplinary process. Working with children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as people with co-occurring mental health and developmental disability diagnoses. Assist in specialized needs assessment clinics. All employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.Scheduled work hours: 20 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 AM– 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Flexibility is required to meet facility needs. A sign-on bonus of $7,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:Advanced, demonstrated knowledge and application of psychological principles, theories, methods and procedures especially in the area of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities. Advanced experience in functional analysis and intervention with people who have severe behavior disorders.Experience in teaching and maintaining adaptive skills. Advanced experience and knowledge in application and interpretation of psychological testing, including experience in the assessment of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities. Demonstrated effective staff training and management strategies and ability to relate appropriately to clients and staff members.To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees. All Sign-on Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
