Sorter/Donation Processor

The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people. The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities include:Following procedure for sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping, and receiving donated items for sale Keeping the donation area clean and free of debris Sorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical, and miscellaneous household items Loading donations for truck delivery Adhering to all safety policies for loading and unloading trucksFollowing all accident and injury reporting procedures Maintaining a clean and organized receiving and processing area Determining which items are saleable, repairable, or salvageable Adhering to proper dress code with uniform as designated by direct supervisor Educational requirements include:High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor Physical requirements include: Ability to lift, bend, and stoopAbility to walk, climb, and/or balance Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
