Job Description

AECOM has a thriving, multidisciplinary Water Resources Engineering team in Colorado and we are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to remotely join the growing team in our Denver office. AECOM’s Global Water Team is involved in high profile, industry leading infrastructure projects in the US and overseas, including a variety of significant projects for Local and National Governments, Water Authorities, and many other clients. We work on projects through all stages from feasibility through design, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position are expected to include:

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a combination of the following responsibilities as a professional or experienced engineer:

Support the Structural Department with the layout and design of hydraulic structures, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and other related structures.

Performs work, which may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

Independently prepare engineering related calculations.

Review work prepared by other engineers within the department.

Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details.

Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/ practices. As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.

Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
