Systems Administrator, Virginia

Overview:
VTG is looking for a Systems Administrator in Herndon, VA or Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications. 

Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resources.

Apply patches and updates to ensure system security and stability. 

Configure and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls. 

Troubleshoot network connectivety issues and implement solutions.

Implement and maintain security policies.

Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks.

use configuration management tools for efficient system management.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards. 

Qualifications:
 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience). 

Must have an Active TS/SCI with Poly 

Must have hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.

Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle

Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems

Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).

Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment

Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.

Experience using a scripting language.

Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include: installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, or VMWare
