Job Title: Senior Network Architect
Work Location: Plano, TX
Education/Experience Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation, with a focus on data center environments.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
Network Architecture Design: Develop comprehensive network architecture designs tailored to the unique requirements of data center environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
Technology Evaluation and Selection: Research and evaluate emerging networking technologies and products, recommending solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
Infrastructure Optimization: Analyze existing network infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimization, including network consolidation, virtualization, and automation.
Capacity Planning: Conduct thorough capacity planning assessments to anticipate future network demands and proactively scale infrastructure resources as needed.
Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance protocols to safeguard data center networks against potential threats and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and project managers, to drive successful implementation and deployment of network solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance metrics and proactively identify and address potential issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal network performance.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures. Generate regular reports to communicate project status, performance metrics, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation, with a focus on data center environments.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLANs, and SDN.
Proficiency in network hardware and software platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and VMware.
Strong understanding of cloud networking principles and experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Hands-on experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and optimize network performance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
