Bakery Manager

The Bakery Manager leads the Bakery Department in delivering high-quality baked goods, outstanding customer service, and strong financial results. This role oversees all aspects of production, merchandising, and team development while ensuring department standards for freshness, cleanliness, and food safety are consistently met.Department Operations Oversee all bakery production, including baking, decorating, and product preparation Ensure consistent product quality, freshness, and presentation standards Manage ordering, inventory levels, and shrink to maximize sales and minimize waste Execute merchandising plans, seasonal items, and promotional displaysCustomer Experience Provide exceptional service and ensure a welcoming, friendly department Assist customers with orders, special requests, and product recommendations Maintain an attractive and well-stocked sales floor with visually appealing displays Team Leadership&Development Hire, train, and develop bakery associates, decorators, and clerks Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management Create effective schedules based on business needs and production requirements Foster a positive team environment focused on quality and accountabilityFinancial Performance Drive sales through product quality, variety, and effective merchandising Manage labor, shrink, and supply costs to meet department goals Monitor key metrics such as sales, margin, and production efficiency Safety&Compliance Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Maintain clean and organized prep, production, and sales areas Follow all company policies and regulatory requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous bakery, food service, or retail management experience preferredStrong leadership, organization, and communication skills Knowledge of bakery operations, production, and decorating techniques Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to work in varying temperatures (ovens, coolers, freezers)Key Competencies Leadership&Team Development Product Quality&Freshness Merchandising&Production Planning Customer Focus Operational Excellence
