Design Draftsman (Gen), Virginia

Job Title: 

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration:  12+ Months with possibility of extension 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of drafting principles.

Basic knowledge of building and construction principles.

Good analytical and abstract thinking with the ability to process detailed information.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Ability to process and understand maps and charts.

Ability to use Microsoft office suite of software.

Ability to use AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drawing software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role will organize and maintain documents associated with design, engineering and construction within the Power Generation Business Unit of .

Organizes and maintains drawings, prints, diagrams, word documents and pdf documents.

Works closely with designers, engineers, and power station personnel to find and perform simple drafting tasks and revisions to drawings and documents.

Compiles and organizes submittal drawings and documents from 3rd party vendors and consultants.

Locates, modifies and prints drawings using small and large format plotter.

Preferred Years of Experience:

3 - 5 years of experience

Education:

Associate’s degree Preferred (demonstrated related knowledge, skills, experience may be substituted for preferred education)
