Established in 1970, Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System, with seven locations across several counties, including Brunswick, Charlotte, Nottoway, Mecklenburg, Greensville, and Halifax. Inspire students to connect mathematical theory with practical application through PreCalculus II. Join Southside Virginia Community College in preparing students for advanced mathematical success through MTH 162: PreCalculus II This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course that presents trigonometry and its various applications. The successful candidate must be committed to SVCC's mission to provide high-quality education to the Southside Virginia community.

Course Content&Specific Duties: Trigonometric functions Analytic trigonometry Applications of trigonometry Conics Develop and maintain high-quality course materials aligned with college standards and learning outcomes. Maintain engagement through the college's Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic successSpecial Assignments

KSA's/Required Qualifications

Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution Excellent oral and written communication skills Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessmentsAbility to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success Additional Considerations

Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face-to-face and online/hybrid modalities. Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom and Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Experience working with community college students. Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.
