POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Braille Transcriber under general supervision, is done for the purpose(s) of transcribing a wide variety of kindergarten through twelfth grade instructional materials, textbooks, graphs, and charts into a medium that can be used for students who are visually impaired.Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: One year of experience or training producing and formatting literary Braille and Nemeth Code EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: Valid California driver's license may be required Possession of a valid Library of Congress Braille Transcriber's CertificateREQUIRED DOCUMENTS: A complete application must meet the criteria listed below and must have the following documentation attached to your online EdJoin application prior to the position closing date/time: Certificate Copy (Valid Library of Congress Braille Transcriber's Certificate) Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author.
