Winthrop Position Title - Writing Tutor GA (Fall 2026) Job Purpose - To tutor students in writing, and perform managerial tasks in the Writing Center. Duties and Responsibilities - Mentoring undergraduate tutors and making sure they adhere to the Center's policiesLeading meetings with the undergraduate tutorsMonthly meetings with the Writing Center DirectorExpected to continue professional development as a tutorAvailable 20 hours a weekResponsibilities could include working on assessment, advertising, publicity, and outreach; maintaining the library and creating and printing handouts; reviewing and making suggestions for the website; managing our social media presence; and creating and distributing faculty reports.Qualifications - Successful completion of WRIT500Have been fully accepted to a Winthrop graduate programWorking knowledge of citation styles includingMLAandAPAWillingness to tutor on-line and in person Preferred Skills - Self-motivatedGood problem solving skillsPrior tutoring experience is preferred but not requiredGood understanding of grammarComfortable with technologyComfortable working with a diverse student populationAble to be friendly and professional with coworkers and visitors to the centerStrong critical thinking skillsPay Rate - 3,500/Semester Type of Position - Graduate Assistant (salary) Position Level - Graduate Hours Per Week - 20hr/week Posting Number - 2026SD0251P Open Date - 04/16/2026 Close Date - 09/30/2026 Desired Start Date - 08/24/2026 End Date - 12/15/2026 Special Instructions to Applicants - Read Guidelines prior to applying: questions are considered part of your official application.Please complete the entire application, including all current and previous work history and education.
