Nutrition Services Kitchen Manager

Oversees the school kitchen's operations, ensuring the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves directing staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all USDA and Health Department Standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Ensures the smooth and efficient daily kitchen operation of the back of house and front of house, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning.Completes district procedures including recipe compliance, production sheet accuracy, inventory completion, proper ordering, and Point of Sale transactions. Assists with training and coaching of Nutrition Services kitchen staff. Follows the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, Afterschool Snack Program, and Seamless Summer Option Program regulations.Ensures all meals served are reimbursable per the USDA regulations. Attends Monthly Kitchen Manager meetings and brings information shared in that meeting back to their respective kitchen teams. Communicates effectively with Nutrition Services kitchen staff and administration team. Accommodates Field Trip and Catering requests as needed.Provides support to all Nutrition Services kitchen staff as needed to ensure efficient daily operations. Ensures accommodation of dietary modifications and food allergies for students using district reports. Follows all Health Department standards to ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met and maintained.Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Food Protection Manager certificate or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment required. Leadership experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to learn and use new software systems. Bilingual as required by location. Work Calendar: 9 Months Working Conditions: Occasional in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.
