Parts Driver
The parts driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership.
Essential duties and responsibilities include picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
The parts driver checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
Delivers parts to the body shop when needed and distributes to appropriate body technicians.
Verifies that the invoice matches the purchase order for each pick-up.
Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
Requests the recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
Unloads the truck each night.
Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
Advises the parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
Assists the service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop-off and pick-up of customer cars.
Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
Maintains a professional attitude with co-workers, customers, vendors.
Follows the dress code the company has put in place.
Maintains a clean and neat work area.
Follows federal, state, and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information.
Reports on time to work and follows the schedule that is given.
Calls the supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time.
Keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position.
Follows all company policies and procedures.
Notifies the supervisor of any illegal activity.
