Heavy Equipment Operator
Company: Texas Native Landscape Supply (an Austin Wood Recycling company) Location: 2100 County Rd 118, Hutto, TX Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Yard/Operations Leadership (as designated by client) Travel: Occasional travel outside of Austin area Compensation: $19$21/hour Benefits: Comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision; 401(k) (fully vested at year one; up to 4% company match for deferrals of 5%+); PTO; paid holidays; paid bereavement; educational assistance for industry-related certifications.Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator supports yard efficiency, safety, and production by operating heavy equipment to move, stage, process, and load materials. This role requires constant situational awareness in a high-traffic outdoor yard environment and is critical to maintaining throughput, order accuracy, and safe material flow.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to:
Front-end Wheeled loaders Excavators Dozers Tractors Forklifts
Load and unload trucks accurately and safely based on order requirements. Move, stage, and organize materials to maintain efficient yard flow and production. Conduct daily pre-operation equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety issues promptly. Coordinate with yard leads, scale operators, and customer service representatives to ensure correct product selection and loading accuracy.Maintain safe work zones and comply with all site traffic patterns, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety protocols. Support general yard housekeeping, material separation, and organization to improve safety and efficiency. Operate equipment in varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards.Required Qualifications
Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a yard, front-end loaders, excavators, dozers, or tractor forklifts, recycling, construction, or materials-handling environment or strong demonstrated competency with similar equipment. Ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment in close proximity to people, trucks, and other machinery.Strong safety mindset with consistent adherence to yard and equipment protocols. Reliable attendance and ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment. Forklift and/or heavy equipment certifications. Experience in recycling, wood processing, aggregate, or landscape materials operations.Work Environment / Schedule
Outdoor, active yard environment with constant equipment and vehicle traffic Monday Friday: 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Overtime may be required based on workload What Texas Native Landscape Supply (an Austin Wood Recycling Company) Offers
