2026 Summer School HS Dance Instructor/Color Guard Sponsor, Florissant

Summer school teachers must be properly certified in the appropriate content area.

Summer school teachers must hold proper certification in the appropriate content area.

Certified teachers serving in teaching, nursing, librarian, or counselor roles will receive a stipend of $6,120. This stipend includes compensation for teaching, planning, training, classroom setup, and Open House participation.

This stipend is not available to individuals who hold only a substitute teacher certification.

Summer School sessions for grades 9-12 will begin as follows: Monday through Thursday for 14 days. Wednesday, June 3rd - Thursday June 25th 7:15am - 4:25pm Class Period 1: 7:15am - 11:35am Lunch: 11:35am - 12:05pm Class Period 2: 12:05pm - 4:25pm Summer employment is contingent upon enrollment.

Qualifications:

Must have prior Color Guard experience. Experience on the collegiate/drum corps level is preferred. Applicant must have a teaching certificate (substitute is acceptable) and be eligible for employment by the Hazelwood School District.

To develop the abilities of the students in the Color Guard

Duties and Responsibilities

:

Attendance at all Color Guard events, rehearsals, and other functions Rehearsal of all performance material Supervision of students involved Rehearsal of performance fundamentals Planning of functions Works closely with the Marching Band instructor on music and routines. Must be able to write a competitive routine to the music being performedLogistics Promotes the activity within the school by recruiting students that may have potential or who have had a previous background in Color Guard from the middle or elementary school. Maintains good public relations with parents. Performing all duties that the athletic administrator or principal deem necessary.
