Protective Security Officer, Duluth

Armed Guard Force Position
In accordance with DHS protocols, the armed guard force is responsible for all aspects of security operations supporting the command.
This includes protecting personnel, property, facilities, and critical assets while maintaining strict entry control point procedures.
Officers ensure that unauthorized individuals, vehicles, vessels, or equipment are effectively deterred and denied access or exit.
This role is well-suited for prior military and law enforcement professionals seeking a structured, mission-driven environment where their experience is valued and applied daily.
Officers also help safeguard operations from threats such as theft, sabotage, civil unrest, and other incidents that could impact mission readiness.
We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with additional on-call hours subject to short-notice schedule and location changes.
Hourly Rate: $*****/hr
Training Rate: $*****/hr
Health and Welfare: $5.36/hr
Responsibilities
Provide armed security and access control services
Protect government property, classified materials, and assigned personnel
Monitor and control entry/exit points to prevent unauthorized access or activity
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and suspicious or unusual situations
Identify and proactively address potential safety and security risks
Enforce all security and safety rules and report violations
Maintain a strong working knowledge of post orders and security procedures
Complete accurate incident reports and required documentation
Exert significant physical force when necessary (up to heavy lifting requirements)
Stand for extended periods, including 12-hour shifts
Navigate stairs, ladders, inclines, and uneven terrain
Work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)
Work in high-noise and potentially hazardous environments, including proximity to machinery and firearms
Maintain full physical and psychological fitness standards required by contract
Extended hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel may be required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable military service
Minimum age of 21
Possess a valid Social Security Card
Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience; OR
Minimum of one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience with a recognized agency; OR
Minimum of two (2) years of honorable service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces
Demonstrated proficiency with a handgun and ability to meet all firearms qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including report writing
Familiarity with fixed-site security operations
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to pass background investigation, drug screening, physical exam, and MRPT suitability requirements
Strong reliability, discipline, and situational awareness
