Job: Software Engineer III, Town and Country

Develops, researches, designs, implements, tests, and evaluates software and systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, that enable computers to perform their applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. 6-8 years experience



Job will focus primarily on the implementation of Flexera within the Centurylink Managed Services organization. Successful candidate is expected to assist with deployment, configuration, and administration of the Flexera application which will be used to dynamically update our asset management systems.



Job Description

• Administer Flexera application and servers

• Evaluate the strategic contribution of the Flexera applications and alignment with overall IT strategies and architectures

• Work with internal compliance organizations to ensure that all applications meet requirements

• Provide occasional 3rd level, off-hours support

• Familiar with advanced data architectures and application architectures

• Develop strong relationships with internal teams that will drive participation in the Flexera application deployment and ongoing use of the tool.



Required Skills

• 5+ systems administration (Linux/Windows)

• Experience working with data center operations teams

• Experience managing or supporting large enterprise applications

• Experience working with third-party vendors for application support

• Knowledge about software deployment, device inventory, software asset management (SCCM, Altiris, ADDM)

• Solid understanding of networking concepts

• Proactively identify and pro-actively resolve issues



Desired Skills

• Experience in building reports using Cognos, SQL, or similar technology

• Knowledge about enterprise security

• Data warehouse technologies

• XML

• Scripting skills (Powershell, VB Script, Perl, etc.)

• Software asset management

• Understanding of Relational Databases (primarily SQL Server)

• Experience in Microsoft stack of technologies (including SQL Server, Windows, Active Directory, IIS)



Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience

• 5+ years related experience
