Opportunity Overview:
Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist for a 13-week assignment with our partner, a 233-bed acute care hospital in Saint Louis, MO. This role involves working night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in a high-volume department within a facility providing Level I trauma care. Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment is essential. First-time travelers meeting the experience requirements are welcome!
Role Summary:
As a CT Technologist on the night shift weekend team, you will perform a variety of CT examinations on primarily inpatient and Emergency Department patients. You will operate Siemens scanners, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety protocols. While typically working alongside another technologist, you must be comfortable potentially working a full or partial shift alone infrequently.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols, handling a varying inpatient/ED caseload.
Conduct complex studies such as angiographic studies, perfusion scans, and Arterial Input Function (AIF) studies.
Operate Siemens CT scanners proficiently and safely.
Ensure optimal image quality through proper patient positioning, technique selection, and adherence to protocols.
Prepare and administer contrast media as required.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the EPIC charting system.
Adhere to all radiation safety principles and departmental policies.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members as needed.
Qualifications:
License: Current Missouri State Radiologic Technologist License (Required). Pending license accepted.
Certifications: Current ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) Advanced certifications (Required); Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of recent CT Technologist experience (Required); Demonstrable experience in a high-volume department performing complex studies including angiographic studies, perfusion scans, and AIFs (Required); Proficiency operating Siemens CT scanners (Required). First-time travelers accepted if minimum experience met.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required).
Skills: Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system (Required).
Assignment Details:
Shift: Nights, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 18:30 (6:30 PM) to 07:00 (7:00 AM).
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week. Agency staff may pick up extra shifts if available.
Weekend Requirement: Yes - This position covers the weekend night shift.
Floating: No.
On-Call: No.
Local Candidates: Yes, accepted.
RTO (Request Time Off): Limited to one segment of RTO allowed per 13-week contract; must be submitted upfront.
