Overview

Seeking a knowledgeable and motivated business professional to teach Personal Finance and Business Technology courses at the high school level. This position focuses on financial literacy, workplace technology skills, career readiness, and real-world business applications. The ideal candidate will prepare students for both postsecondary education and the modern workforce through hands-on, practical instruction. Provisional teacher certification is available based on prior experience.

Responsibilities Instruct students in Personal Finance and Business Technology courses Teach financial literacy topics including budgeting, banking, credit, investing, taxes, insurance, and consumer skills Deliver instruction in business software applications, digital communication, and workplace technology toolsPrepare students for college, career, and workforce readiness through real-world business scenarios Maintain an organized, professional, and technology-rich learning environment Incorporate project-based and hands-on learning opportunities Assess student performance through practical assignments, projects, and skill-based evaluationsAlign instruction with Illinois CTE standards and workforce readiness expectations Promote professionalism, employability skills, and responsible digital citizenship Qualifications

Industry experience in business, finance, accounting, office technology, or related fields Strong knowledge of personal finance concepts and business technology applications Ability to work effectively with high school students Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skillsWillingness and eligibility to obtain an Illinois Provisional Educator License Preferred

Experience teaching or training others in business or technology settings Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and business software platforms Background in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, or office management Experience with career readiness, employability skills, or business certificationsIndustry certifications related to business, finance, or technology Salary&Certification

Salary:

Health Insurance, Retirement, Medical and Personal Days Teacher certification may be obtained after hire through a provisional pathway
