2nd Shift Tool Maker, Saint Paul

Overview

Join our dynamic team where you'll have the opportunity to build, modify, and maintain tooling to support all functions for one of our plastic fabrication clients. This is a 2nd Shift Tool Maker position for Monday - Friday. Typical schedule would be from 3:00 - 11:00 pm, but they can be flexible on those hours. We're looking for someone to start as soon as possible!

Salary - $27-$33.00/ hour - If this is below your compensation, but the role interests you, please still reach out as there may be flexibility.

Responsibilities

Construct, repair, and maintain a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures.

Set up and operate WEDM and CNC Mill.

Use CAD/CAM to provide programming for CNC equipment.

Instruct new or developing shop personnel in equipment operations and shop practices.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop environment.

Participate in company safety and developmental training as assigned.

Actively contribute to toolroom culture, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Construct tooling to specification in a timely manner.

Demonstrate sound prioritization techniques.

Support the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedures.

Perform other accountabilities as apparent or assigned.

Other Performance Indicators

Interact with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production in a professional manner.

Perform overtime when requested to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of work.

Education/Experience

Technical College - Machine/Tool Processes Program or equivalent in experience.

Four years of experience in a similar role is desired.

Skills

Basic computer skills required.

Ability to successfully work within a team environment.

Knowledge of Tool Room Machine Operations required.

CNC Mill - Conversational Programming helpful.

Wire EDM - Set-Up/Operation helpful.

CNC Mill - CAD/CAM Programming helpful.

Physical Requirements

Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry tools or materials over the course of an 8 – 10 hour shift; while supporting 24-hour/5-day per week plant operations.

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
