Lead Design Engineer - Vehicle / Automotive, Forest Lake

Responsibilities
Translate customer and fleet requirements into clear, build-ready upfit designs and engineering solutions
Review and approve design packages, including BOMs, labor standards, and installation methods, and release complete production documentation before launch
Ensure all designs meet OEM guidelines, NTEA standards, and applicable safety and compliance requirements
Support initial builds by resolving design, integration, and manufacturability issues while optimizing for scalability and cost
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality to align designs with operational needs and project goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Design Engineering preferred; equivalent experience accepted
At least 1 year of manufacturing engineering experience plus 5+ years in vehicle upfitting or specialty vehicle manufacturing
Strong knowledge of OEM chassis, electrical systems, integration practices, and experience with BOMs, labor standards, and production documentation
CAD and ERP/MRP system experience preferred, with strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
Ability to work onsite in Forest Lake, MN and manage multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced production environment
