Position Summary:
The Intermediate Interior Designer plays a key role in the development and execution of residential and commercial design projects. This position requires a strong foundation in both creative and technical aspects of design, with the ability to take ownership of key project components and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate can confidently navigate both luxury residential interiors and commercial environments, supporting project delivery from concept through construction administration with limited oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop design concepts, space plans, material palettes, and FF&E specifications for a variety of project types including high-end residential, hospitality, multifamily, and commercial interiors.
Produce detailed drawings, elevations, construction documents, and millwork details using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Lead sourcing, pricing, and specification of FF&E, finishes, and custom elements; coordinate with procurement and vendors to ensure accuracy and deliverables.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and internal team members to ensure design intent is maintained through project execution.
Assist in managing project schedules, deliverables, and design documentation standards.
Prepare and present client-facing materials, mood boards, sample trays, and presentation decks.
Lead site visits, installations, punch walks, and review submittals/shop drawings.
Mentor and provide design direction to junior team members.
Ensure quality control and code compliance across all deliverables and project phases.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
3–5 years of professional experience in interior design, with exposure to both residential and commercial sectors.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
Experience producing interior drawing sets and working with consultants across all project phases.
Knowledge of FF&E specifications, material applications, and construction methods.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to design excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project experience in sectors such as luxury residential, multifamily housing, hospitality, wellness, and commercial TI.
Understanding of fabrication, custom furniture design, and procurement processes.
Familiarity with sustainable design standards (e.g., LEED, WELL).
Experience mentoring junior designers or coordinating small project teams

Salary Range: $66,000–$75,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
