Mover - Part-time Summer/Temporary, San Angelo

POSITION TITLE: Mover EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Purchasing Director TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time / Temporary / Summer only HOURLY SALARY: $11.50 per hour Primary Purpose Perform general moving duties. Moving boxes, furniture, and other classroom items. Qualifications Education/Certification High school diploma or GED, preferred Valid Texas driver’s license Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Ability to operate hand and power tools Ability to work independently Experience One year experience in general building maintenance with clear driving record Major Responsibilities Moving classroom and equipment from one site to another. Moving Assist with relocation of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc. Move, install, assemble, and repair all school furniture and playground equipment as needed. Operate light truck to transport furniture, equipment and supplies and materials throughout district. Work irregular hours Safety Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor. Professional Growth and Development Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and special events as assigned. Communication Articulate the district’s mission and goals to the community and solicit community support. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Tools/Equipment Used : Hand Truck, electric drill, hand tools, pallet jack Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions and tight and enclosed spaces Motion: Frequent walking; repetitive hand motions, wrist flexion/extension, grasping/squeezing, overhead reaching; frequent driving Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance Environment: Work outside and inside; on slippery or uneven surfaces; on ladders and scaffolding; around machinery and moving parts; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, fumes, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration; frequent districtwide travel; occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions
