This part-time position is assigned to the Police Department's Finance Unit and provides clerical and administrative support to facilitate the unit's daily operations. The position serves as a key point of contact for internal and external customers and supports functions related to vendor coordination, records management, and payroll and financial processes. The Senior Office Assistant answers the unit's main phone line, responds to general inquiries, and routes requests to appropriate staff. The position supports vendor coordination and departmental operations by maintaining required vendor documentation and coordinating service or maintenance requests as needed. The Senior Office Assistant performs records management and general office support duties, including processing mail, maintaining electronic files, and supporting the daily administrative needs of the unit. The role also provides general financial and payroll support on a limited basis, assisting with routine tasks, data organization, and administrative processes related to finance and payroll functions. Principles and practices of sound business communication; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. City and Police Department specific organization, functions, rules, policies, and procedures applicable to assigned areas of work responsibility.Basic principles and practices of public administration. Uses and operations of a computer and standard business software. Filing and record keeping practices and procedures. Basic customer service principles. Skill in: Operating a computer using word processing, spreadsheet and other standard business software.Operating other standard office equipment.
