Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description
The Engineer I – Process Development will support the development, piloting, and transfer of organic chemistry manufacturing processes into production.
The role involves executing pilot and production builds, resolving technical issues, and optimizing processes for safety, efficiency, yield, and cost.
The engineer will author and maintain technical documentation for compliance and change management while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
Hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory environment with strict adherence to safety practices.
Ability to develop, pilot, and transfer chemical manufacturing processes with supervision.
Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot technical issues and improve yields, efficiencies, and costs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for authoring engineering reports and collaborating with various teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry; Biochemistry or Biomedical Engineering may be considered.
Ability to receive instruction, act on feedback, and consistently follow standard procedures.
Curiosity, accountability, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
The position is fully onsite in a lab manufacturing setting with a standard weekday schedule (Monday–Friday) from 8-5.
This hands-on role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
The environment is safety-focused, collaborative, and supportive, providing early-career engineers the opportunity to gain real-world manufacturing experience and contribute to process scale-up and production success.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $***** - $*****/hr.
