Role Overview: The Good Eating Company is seeking a Sushi Chef for our client in Irvine, California.
In the sushi chef role, you will be responsible for preparing different types of sushi such as nigiri, Poke bowels and maki rolls. You will also manage the ingredients handling and preparation. It is crucial that you maintain a deep understanding of which ingredients taste well together. We are obsessed with local products, scratch cooking, fresh ingredients, great food and being best in class. What You'll Do: Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish
Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes
Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety
Maintaining a clean work environment to prevent food contamination
Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use
Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met
Adhere to traditional Japanese sushi-making methods and techniques

Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
