Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Designer II / Project Manager to join a dynamic team. This essential role involves working across all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration. You will be responsible for creating innovative concept packages and high-quality project documentation, guiding the design process to completion, and mentoring junior designers.

Duties/Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, engineers, fabricators, product reps, furniture dealers, and regulatory agencies to achieve project objectives.

Develop design concepts, select interior finishes and furniture, and communicate designs using 2D imagery and 3D renderings.

Coordinate detailed documentation with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.).

Ensure design intent is accurately reflected in construction documentation.

Resolve complex technical and design issues to produce innovative, constructible solutions.

Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control.

Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by contractors.

Contribute to the financial performance of projects.

Review and assist in proposals and contracts.

Establish and maintain productive client relationships.

Engage in business development and marketing efforts.

Participate in company activities, initiatives, and learning curriculums.

Support goals of altruism, wellness, and sustainability.

Mentor junior team members.

Develop and deliver internal presentations.

Required Skills/Abilities

Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.

Skilled in SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop.

Strong rendering and visual communication skills.

Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.

Understanding of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.

Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.

Collaborative and team-oriented.

Ability to focus on multiple projects in various development stages.

Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership, presentation, client service, and relationship management skills.

Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.

4+ years of commercial interior design experience.

NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP certifications are highly valued.
