From initial feasibility studies to finishing touches, we operate globally as an integrated, multidisciplinary practice. Along with our interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors, we specialize in hospitality, gaming + entertainment, urban + mixed-use, and high-end residential design.WATG is hiring a Project Architect for our office in Tustin, California. Licensed Architect accountable to the Project Manager and Project Designer for project performance and team communications. The Project Architect is responsible for project deliverables, the technical content of documents, the implementation of comments, QA reviews, and the coordination of disciplines, including consultants. The Project Architect directs the work assignments of a diverse project team as well as coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors. The Project Architect reports to the Project Director.Responsibilities include: Ensuring the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentation Monitoring the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validating that the design idea is consistent and properly executedResponsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications Checking completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy Coordinating use and tracking shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultantsWriting reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions Preparing meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings Managing project documents and identifying the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)Managing standards Fostering and maintaining a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team Coordinating communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessary Managing construction detail documentation so that it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standardsSupervising the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior-level architects or team members Preparing meeting minutes Performing as team leader on certain projects Mentoring and directing the work of team members, reviewing their work, and providing development opportunities Incorporating Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projectsFostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Architecture Professional license required Environmental accreditation preferred 10+ years of experience designing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotelsProficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUp Sketching skills required Knowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, CA process, building codes, and the ability to research and apply to technical documentsExperienced in client management, project management, and negotiations Ability to work in a team environment and supervise others Ability to effectively meet deadlines Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills Salary range: $100,000-$120,000 per year WATG is an Equal Opportunity Employer
