The Universal Banker is responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
Performing routine teller transactions while working directly with clients. This includes accepting, verifying, and processing basic to more complex customer transactions by established procedures and security guidelines. Transactions include deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and those received through mail or the night drop.
Managing and balancing a cash supply for all transactions performed. Adhering to all cash handling policies and procedures and ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift.
Providing exemplary customer service by representing the bank and its products and services with professionalism. Identifying customer needs, providing information about available products and services, and promoting new offerings. Recognizing business referral opportunities and informing customers about special promotions.
Reviewing customer transactions for fraud indicators and maintaining awareness of current scams targeting banking customers. Helping prevents customers from falling victim to fraud and escalating unresolved issues to Branch Management or the appropriate department.
Assisting customers with account reconciliations, providing copies of statements and checks, placing check orders, processing account closures, and facilitating safe deposit box access.
Processing and gathering data for various reports and forms (e.g., Currency Transaction Reports, Reg CC holds, overdrafts) to ensure compliance with bank policies, the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
Specific qualifications for the position include:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year of cash handling experience in a customer-facing role or experience in a banking environment with a basic understanding of bank deposit products and services.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and outstanding customer service abilities.
Basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services.
Ability to understand customer loan requests and make appropriate referrals.
Capability to assess customer needs and recommend additional products and services as appropriate.
Pay Rate Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
