Position Overview
Insight Global client is seeking a Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Engineer with strong software development skills in Go and Python, and a passion for automating hardware provisioning and diagnostics in a production manufacturing environment.
This role involves designing, building, and supporting scalable test infrastructure used globally across Arista's EMS, NPI, and DFxA sites.
Key Responsibilities
Develop automated test scripts for High-Level Assembly (HLA) and System-level testing using Python and/or Go.
Automate hardware using remote communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, SNMP, or serial.
Create and manage web-based interfaces for production test systems using CGI or web frameworks, and backend databases like MariaDB/MySQL.
Maintain and scale manufacturing test infrastructure and automation tools across global manufacturing partners.
Automate server and test station provisioning using Linux tools (e.g., PXE boot, HTTP/ISO deployment).
Build tools for hardware health monitoring, diagnostics, and system benchmarking.
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues in manufacturing environments, including equipment maintenance.
Define and implement Manufacturing Test Plans aligned with hardware and platform specifications.
Provide daily technical support for production systems and tools.
Drive test data collection, mining, and visualization to improve yield and efficiency.
Manage test capacity planning, procurement, and deployment schedules.
Participate in Defect Reduction Team (DRT) efforts and DfX practices including DFT and DFM.
Support CM partners with on-site and remote training, debugging, and sustaining activities.
Required Qualifications
Strong programming skills in
Go
and
Python
with solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
1-3+ years of experience in software development or test automation, preferably in a hardware or manufacturing environment.
Experience with CGI, web frameworks, and SQL-based databases (MariaDB/MySQL).
Strong foundation in Linux system administration, including OS installation, service configuration (DHCP, Apache, SSH), and package deployment (rpm/deb).
Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP) and ability to troubleshoot network issues.
Experience in HLA/System-level testing in a manufacturing context.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Ability to read and interpret hardware specifications, schematics, and data sheets.
Effective communicator, self-motivated, and comfortable collaborating across time zones.
Nice to Have
Experience working with EMS/CM partners and global fulfillment centers.
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as SaltStack or Ansible.
Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard tools for monitoring test data.
Experience with automation in large-scale production test environments.
