Technician I, OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform

Patients are waiting.We are searching for the best talent for Technician I, in support of the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform. The Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for performing electro-mechanical assembly of robotic sub-systems and components, supporting production schedules, and maintaining compliance with medical device regulations. This role reports into the Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA™) Manufacturing organization.We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn and grow. This position offers hands-on experience with innovative technology and opportunities for long-term career development. Key Responsibilities Assemble robotic sub-systems (e.g., joints, control modules, cable harnesses) following detailed work instructions, drawings, and schematics.Operate on a production line to meet daily build schedules while maintaining accurate documentation and device history records per ISO 13485 and FDA QSR requirements. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly procedures to build and verify assemblies. Perform functional and mechanical checks using calibrated tools and test fixtures.Follow clean manufacturing, ESD, and contamination-control practices appropriate for medical devices. Complete in-process inspection and quality checks, documenting results in electronic systems (MES, ERP, eDHR). Collaborate with manufacturing engineers during line setup and continuous improvement activities.Maintain a safe work area and comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures and training requirements. Qualifications Required: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational Certificate or Technical training preferred. 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly of medical devices or electromechanical equipment.Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulated environments. Basic proficiency with assembly tools (e.g., torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, tweezers). Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts (including weekends) as business needs require. Strong communication and teamwork skills.Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems, MES, SAP, or similar systems Exposure to robotics or surgical device assembly. Work Schedule Monday–Friday; shifts may vary between 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (1st shift) or 10:00 AM–6:30 PM (2nd shift). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
