Assistant Controller, Santa Rosa

Voy is recruiting an Assistant Property Controller for an established, SF–based real estate private equity firm that invests across multifamily, office, industrial, hospitality, retail, and self-storage with a value-add / opportunistic strategy.
They've grown meaningfully over the past several years and recently closed a new institutional fund — backed by a sophisticated LP base of endowments, foundations, and family offices.
This is a senior accounting seat on a lean, well-respected team.
Property accounting is the primary focus, with ad hoc exposure across fund reporting, treasury, audit, and tax — and clear runway to grow into broader back-office leadership as the platform continues to scale.
Responsibilities
Review and oversight of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages prepared by third-party accountants across joint ventures and properties
Bank reconciliations, AP review and controls, and day-to-day cash management at the property level
Onboarding new acquisitions into Yardi, including allocation of acquisition costs, debt setup, and entity configuration
CapEx tracking, lender draws and reporting, and property-level loan covenant compliance
Partnering with property managers and ownership groups on operational accounting matters
Supporting the Controller on JV and fund-level rollups, including waterfall calculations, capital account allocations, and management fee reviews
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field
7-10+ years of experience in accounting
5+ years of property accounting experience
Proficency with Yardi required
