Manager is looking for MedSurg rockstars (she does not move forward with candidates heavy in tele and stepdown)
profile should only include the MEDSURG SKILLS CHECKLIST

UNIT sees a wide variety of MedSurg patients, the broader the candidates MedSurg experience, the better
PATIENT TYPE: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, vascular, pulmonary, diabetes, failure to thrive etc.

- Nurse Patient Ratios: 5-6 to 1
- Required Certifications : BLS
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 12 - 1
- RT Equipment : Nasal, face masks, bipap

travelers can self-schedule however, they may not get that the exact schedule they put in. The manager will even out the schedule and move staff to ensure there are consistent numbers for each shift for the 12 week schedule.
The weekend requirement for 5th floor @ St. Joseph s is 6 weekend shifts per 12 weeks and weekend is Saturday and Sunday. The weekend shifts may or may not be together.
