divh2Resort Groundskeeper/h2pAs our Resort Groundskeeper, you will perform a variety of landscaping and maintenance duties to ensure our resorts are well-maintained and look presentable.
This is a seasonal position from May - October.
/ph3Job Requirements:/h3ulliEnsure lawns are manicured appropriately/liliRegularly treat weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services/liliPick up trash and debris from common areas and streets/liliEmpty trash in common areas/liliPerform maintenance or repair duties/liliAbility to use saws, weed eaters, blowers, mowers, drills, or other handheld tools/liliInspect the irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly and repair as needed/liliReport all resort maintenance issues and concerns that they may identify while performing their daily duties directly to their manager/liliMaintain resort vehicles and equipment/liliEnsure the resort is presentable at all times and adheres to Islands curb appeal standards/liliMaintain resort pool(s) by testing chemical levels and adjusting appropriately if applicable/liliFollow safety procedures while performing duties and operating vehicles/li/ulh3Job Qualifications:/h3ulliBasic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet/liliStrong communication and customer service skills/liliAbility to provide legible written reports/liliDemonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general grounds maintenance techniques/liliProficient skills in operating various handheld tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery/lili6 months of previous groundskeeping experience in the resort industry is preferred/li/ulpThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors.
