Job Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting the school bus driver with maintaining order, safeguarding students and supervising the loading and unloading of buses.
Additional responsibilities include:
Inform and maintain the safe and orderly conduct of student passengers on a school bus while in transit
Comfortable with the possibility of assisting, and tending to, students with disabilities or special needs as defined in the student's individualized education program (IEP)
Comply with State, Federal, Agency, and NYS Education Department requirements
Follow all safety rules, as well as transportation laws and regulations
Ability to operate special equipment on the bus
Assist school bus driver as needed, as well as other responsibilities as assigned
