FIELD ACCOUNTANT Muncy, PA (Remote with On-Site Project Work- 3-4 times per year) $50,000- $65,000
We are seeking a
Field Accountant
to support ongoing construction projects and serve as a key financial partner to operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on role working directly with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure accurate job costing, payroll processing, and financial tracking in real time.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the action, working closely with field personnel, and playing a critical role in keeping projects financially on track.

OVERVIEW OF THE FIELD ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
Review and validate employee timecards for accuracy
Enter and track labor hours in Vista for union employees
Assist with onboarding and proper classification of field personnel
Ensure compliance with union rules and agreements for time reporting
Flag errors or discrepancies in labor hours promptly
Enter and manage purchase orders (POs) and job cost coding
Support billing processes and ensure proper documentation
Handle AP/AR tasks, reconciliations, and expense tracking
Monitor job costs including labor, materials, and equipment
Identify and flag cost overruns, miscoding, or inefficiencies
Work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents
Act as a financial liaison between accounting and field operations
Provide real-time insights to help teams stay on budget
Support bidding processes and project setup as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE FIELD ACCOUNTANT:
High school diploma required; additional accounting coursework a plus
2+ years of experience in:
Timekeeping / union labor tracking, OR
Construction accounting / job costing / AP/AR
Experience working in a fast-paced, transactional environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working with field teams and non-corporate environments
Experience with Vista or similar ERP systems is a plus
