Overview of the Role
Join a leading industrial manufacturer as their Plant Senior EHS Specialist where you'll champion workplace safety initiatives, drive environmental compliance, and help create a zero-harm workplace. This influential position gives you the opportunity to implement innovative safety solutions while collaborating with both plant operations and corporate safety teams to elevate the entire EHS program.
Key Responsibilities
Lead facility safety and environmental compliance initiatives aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements
Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses to develop effective preventative actions
Perform risk assessments and hazard inspections to mitigate workplace dangers
Manage safety monitoring and recordkeeping systems to ensure regulatory compliance
Coordinate the plant Safety Committee and develop action plans for safety activities
Facilitate comprehensive safety, health, and environmental training programs
Support plant initiatives for Lean, Kaizen, Cost Reduction, and other facility improvements
Ensure proper management of industrial process wastewaters and waste disposal
Serve as the site's EHS training coordinator and regulatory compliance resource
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Environmental Science or equivalent degree
7+ years of experience in safety/environmental roles within industrial settings
Prior Safety-specific training (OSHA 30 Hour, Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health)
Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA)
Professional certifications in Safety, Environmental or Occupational Health preferred
Experience as an EHS Leader or recognized Subject Matter Expert
Strong communication, training, and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software applications
Root cause analysis skills and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work in industrial environments with various physical requirements
