Manager of Accounting
Overview:

Seeking a results-driven Manager of Accounting to lead a high-performing accounting team responsible for delivering accurate, GAAP-compliant financials on a five-day close cycle, strengthening internal controls, safeguarding investor capital, and continuously improving efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Optimization

Evaluate and ensure right people are in right roles within 60 days

Identify and resolve at least two accounting process pain points within six months

2. Financial Reporting

Lead a consistent 5-day month-end close with <0.5% post-close adjustments

Deliver accurate, reviewed financial statements with QA sign-off

Ensure zero errors in distribution-related accounting

3. Controls & Compliance

Maintain zero material audit findings

Ensure 100% security deposit protection and 90% of move-out dispositions within 3 days

Reconcile trust accounts daily; clear variances within 24 hours

4. AP/AR Efficiency

Keep AP aging <15 days and AR aging <30 days

Drive automation to reduce manual work

5. Tax & Regulatory Oversight

File all sales and real estate taxes on time; oversee 1099s

Prevent penalties through proactive compliance

6. Scalable Systems & KPIs

Ensure KPI dashboards are current and support a "single source of truth” data strategy

Go live on new reporting systems within 9 months

7. Team Leadership

Lead and develop a 15-person team (2–3 direct reports)

Conduct quarterly 1:1s and maintain <10% turnover
