Job Summary: Provide essential support in healthcare delivery and patient care management within a clinical setting.
Responsibilities vary based on the practice's needs at any given time.
Essential Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal indicators to identify at-risk clients.
Follow established standards and guidelines to ensure quality care.
Manage telephone triage with professionalism, offering reassurance, accurate education, and clear instructions.
Coordinate efficient healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits.
Maintain accurate, complete, and updated medical records.
Initiate patient contact, prepare patients for examinations, and collect vital signs including weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, history, and chief complaints.
Monitor patients for abnormal signs, communicate findings to physicians, and document accordingly.
Ensure patients understand physician instructions upon discharge.
Enter medical record data and billing information into electronic systems.
Support testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision.
Assist with splint and dressing applications.
Execute physician orders diligently.
Manage sample medications and logs.
Arrange and administer necessary patient testing or admissions.
Obtain referrals as needed.
Retrieve test results and notify patients.
Aid physicians in minor surgeries and physical exams.
Secure consents prior to invasive procedures or immunizations.
Distribute educational materials and assist patients in understanding treatments and medication usage.
Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs.
Maintain patient care areas, equipment, and supplies.
Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, organized, and compliant with sterilization protocols.
Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment to support smooth operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.
Work Shift: 1st Shift
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32
