Job Title: Adjunct– Ceramics Reports To: CADM [Communication, Art and Digital Media] Director, Chris Neyen Status: Part-time Fall 2026 and concurrent semesters Primary Duties and Responsibilities This adjunct faculty member is responsible for teaching Ceramics in the art studio, preparing and delivering instructionto students and maintaining of the studio space for other classes and students. This adjunct faculty member will employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions and encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper class-related records, and promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to relate well to a diverse population of learners. Develop a syllabus outlining the topics, activities, and assessments for the course 1. Develop a syllabus outlining the topics, activities, and assessments for the course. 2. Assess student learning using a variety of assessment strategies. 3. Maintain a learning management system site (eClass) for the course. 4. Document student attendance and grades. 5. Submit mid-term and final grades to the registrar. Qualifications Required: •Knowledge of standard equipment, procedures, supplies and materials related to ceramics and sculpture. • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a professional art practice • Teaching experience (preferably at the college level) • Ability to mix clay and glazes and load/fire kiln as needed for class. Preferred: • MFA in Ceramics/Sculpture or related field, Bachelor’s considered based on qualifications.
